Race 2 is a 2013 Bollywood action thriller film directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced under the Tips Music Films banner and is the first major release of the year. It is the sequel to the 2008 hit film, Race, and stars an ensemble cast that includes Anil Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan reprising their roles as Robert D'Costa and Ranveer Singh from the previous film while Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel are new additions to the cast. Bipasha Basu reprised her role of Sonia in a special appearance.[3] Made on a budget of INR60 crore (US$10.92 million),[2]Race 2 was released on 25 January 2013, and opened with positive response at the box office

Like his earlier movie Pyaar Ka Punchnama, director Luv Ranjan’s Akaash Vani is a promising but ultimately inconsistent film that starts out at one place, but ends up at quite another. This long, rambling love story makes an important point about marriage, and about parents shoving their decisions down their children’s throats to stay within societal norms. It even touches fleetingly upon the issue of marital rape. But it’s a pity these thoughts get somewhere lost in this convoluted mess of a film.I’m going with one-and-a-half out of five for director Luv Ranjan’s Akaash Vani. It’s a good cure for insomnia. Queue up for a ticket, those of you having trouble sleeping.

David makes a subtle but well-taken point about the growing communal and religious tension of its times, and leaves you pondering your stand on morality and redemption. And yet, the film is never consistently engaging because of its formidable length and script holes. Oozing style and technical finesse reminiscent of his earlier film Shaitan, Nambiar’s latest has some genuinely tense moments, but suffers gravely on account of flabby writing. I’m going with two-and-a-half out of five for director Bejoy Nambiar’s David. There’s much to appreciate here, but you can’t help feeling it could have been so much more.
